Fixing Roof Light To Rail

29mm bonded washers with 3mm EPDM backing are recommended to give the best possible seal and pullover value.

For Composite panels use a 29mm bonded washer on the high thread ranges. Where there are build ups in applications choose a fastener from the relevant section adding a 29mm bonded washer.

CAPPING use a 52904E53 Poppy red colour cap or use fasteners colour headed in poppy red.

Side Lap Stitching

10mm Diameter grommet stitcher consisting of, a black neoprene sleeve with M5 brass insert, an M5 hex. set screw, M5 washer and a 19mm bonded washer with 3mm EPDM backing. TLAP25 M10 X 25mm Grommet Stitcher TLAP38 M10 X 38mm Grommet Stitcher Above 5/16" HWH with 19mm bonded washer. TLAP2504E53 M10 X 25mm Grommet Stitcher Poppy Red TLAP3804E53 M10 X 38mm Grommet Stitcher Poppy Red Above BI-HEX Poppy Red with 19mm bonded washer. For sinusoidal sheets use the TLOCK38 (see fibre cement section). Pre-drill 10mm diameter hole for GRP sheets and 13mm for PVC sheets.

Good Site Practice

Whether classified to be Fragile or non-Fragile, rooflights should be considered dangerous areas. "Brightly coloured" fixings should be used to assist in the location of the rooflights, and colour identified. Poppy red has become the industry's norm. It is highly recommended that all fixings around rooflights are colour capped or moulded in poppy red.
